Dogs and Covid-19

It's something we've all gone over in our heads, something that keeps us awake at night, and something that makes us wonder, 'Is this going to be the last time I see my dog?' It's  COVID-19, the virus that took over our lives, outdoor privileges and family members. Before we read on, please take a moment to pin this to your dogs board.

Can I give my dog COVID-19?

If you tested positive for COVID-19, try to limit contact with your pets. It is possible to give them COVID-19.

Can my dog give me COVID-19?

There is no confirmed evidence that your dog can give you COVID-19. The chance that your dog will give you COVID is very low.

Should my dog wear a mask?

We've all seen those cute pictures of puppies wearing masks, but, no, do not put a mask on pets. They could harm them. To protect dogs from COVID, follow these steps.

  1. Keep your dogs 6 feet away from other people and pets when walking.
  2. Don't let your pets run away, keep them safe indoors when possible.
  3. Avoid large gatherings.
